Hello everyone,
I recently started a new job in Dubai and I’m currently in my probation period. My employer mentioned that they can terminate me “at any time without notice,” but I’ve heard there are specific rules under UAE labor law regarding probation.
My questions are:
-
What are the legal rights of employees during probation in the UAE?
-
Is the employer required to give written notice before termination?
-
How long can probation legally last under UAE law?
-
If I resign during probation, do I also need to give notice?
-
Are there any penalties or restrictions if either party ends the contract during probation?
I’d appreciate advice from anyone familiar with UAE employment regulations or who has experienced this situation.
